home > Exams Exams October exam postmark deadline is June 27 IMPORTANT! The Board's deadline for applications for the 2008 October NCEES exams is Friday, June 27, 2008. This is a postmark deadline. Your application must be postmarked no later than June 27. Overview Ohio Revised Code [R.C.] Chapter 4733 requires minimum standards in order for individuals to become licensed Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors in the state of Ohio. Included in the minimum requirements is the passing of two eight-hour National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying [NCEES] examinations. Even if you have been previously approved to take an exam by the Board, you still must reapply for each reexamination pursuant to Ohio R.C. section 4733.13(D). Choose an appropriate exam link from the left column for reexamination, student, or first-time exam choices and procedures. Non-ABET degree evaluation required In order to be considered for Ohio NCEES examination approval, the Board requires all non-ABET accredited degrees to be evaluated by the Center for Professional Engineering Education Services [CPEES], an affiliate of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying [NCEES]. Go to our Degree evaluation policy page for Board policies and procedures. IMPORTANT! Your previously-approved, non-ABET degree may need to be evaluated before you can be approved for a reexamination. Go to our Degree evaluation policy page for Board policies and procedures. NCEES publishes new edition of ‘FE Supplied-Reference Handbook’ The National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) has published the eighth edition of the Fundamentals of Engineering Supplied-Reference Handbook. This new edition will be supplied to FE examination candidates beginning with the April 2008 administration. "We want to make sure that the April 2008 candidates know about the change now so that they can use this edition when preparing for the exam," explained NCEES Director of Exam Development Tim Miller, P.E. "They can become familiar with the new format, which will help them find information more easily when they’re taking the exam." The eighth edition, which was published in November 2007, has been revised and expanded. The index has been updated to improve usability, and the exam specification is now included. The handbook can be downloaded free of charge from the NCEES website. Bound copies can be purchased online as well. Top of page ^^ |
