Principles and Practice of Surveying Principles and Practice of Surveying first-time approval in Ohio Non-ABET degree evaluation required REMINDER… in order to be considered for Ohio examination approval, the Board requires all non-ABET accredited degrees to be evaluated by the Center for Professional Engineering Education Services [CPEES], an affiliate of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying [NCEES]. are a first-time Principles and Practice of Surveying [PS] candidate if you have not been
approved by the Board to take the PS, even though you may have previously applied
for the PS in Ohio.To qualify for the PS in Ohio, you need an accredited bachelor or graduate degree in a Board-approved curricula. You need to have passed the Fundamentals of Surveying exam. You need to completely fill out all four pages of ENG 1011. In addition, you may need to fill out ENG 1014. The fee is $25.00, made payable to Treasurer, State of Ohio. If your application is incomplete, it will be returned. ![]() After verifying your eligibility, the Board will mail you an approval letter. The letter will include instructions on how to complete your examination registration by going online to the Engineering and Land Surveying Examination Services [ELSES] website. If the Board does not approve your application, you will be mailed an explanation. 2008 April application, registration fees
Calculator policy ![]() The Board's calculator policy is the same as the NCEES calculator policy. There are no exceptions. Study materials The Board cannot suggest and does not supply study materials for NCEES exams. The FE and FS are closed-book examinations. You cannot bring any reference materials to an NCEES FE or FS examination. The FE Supplied-Reference Handbook and FS Supplied-Reference Formulas are available from NCEES on their website. ELSES will provide a copy of the FE Supplied-Reference Handbook for FE examinees at the exam site. The FS Supplied-Reference Formulas are included in the morning and afternoon examination booklets. The PE and PS are open-book examinations.

April exam deadlines Engineering and Land Surveying Examination Services [ELSES] administers Ohio's NCEES examinations twice a year. The 2008 April PE and PS exams will be administered in Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus on Friday, April 11, 2008. The 2008 April FE and FS exams will be administered in Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus on Saturday, April 12, 2008. Ohio deadlines Application Wednesday, December 12, 2007 2007 October attendee deadline exception [1] Saturday, January 12, 2008 [NOTE 1] If you did not attend a 2007 October exam and your name is not on our list of 2007 October attendees, your deadline remains Wednesday, December 12, 2007. ELSES deadlines Proctoring [2] TBD Application registration, ADA accommodation and religious accommodation TBD [NOTE 2] With the single exception of candidates currently serving in active duty in the U.S. armed services, Ohio's State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors does not approve or accept exam proctoring. 2008 April PE exams The following are the only PE exams to be held in April.
